Anil Bathwal is the executive chef and managing director of The Kati Roll Company. Prior to joining Payal with TKRC in 2002, Anil was a successful Creative Director at one of the world’s biggest advertising agencies. It was his career that first brought the couple to New York City from their hometown Kolkata. Besides an abnormal obsession with food since childhood, he has had no formal training or schooling in the hospitality industry, yet it is his direction that has taken the one location eatery and expanded it into the mini-chain it has become today. Anil spends his weekends cooking elaborate family meals and pursuing his other passions, painting, sculpting and searching for the next cool font.
